Myanmar Army Shell and Kill Massive Civilians in Rakhine State Today, Including 2 children in Western Myanmar

Local residents report Myanmar army Light Infantry Division 66 from Ann township fire artillery shells into Nyaung Ken village in Maybom township this morning and kill 5 civilians and wounded 9 more villagers, including 7 years old children, in Rakhine State.

 

The killed civilians are a female school teacher Daw Moe Thazin, 27, and her 7 years old daughter Ma Thu Thu Hein; the village woman Daw Chan Nyein Thu, 25; 7 years old boy Maung Thuya Auag and 22 years old village woman Ma Nhin Yu Hlaing.

 

Ma Nhin Yu Haling died at Kanhtaunkyi hospital this afternoon due to the critical injury on her head.

 

The wounded villagers are

     

1.      U San Nu, 58 and male

2.      U Nyi Pu 48, and male

3.      U Maung Maung Tun, 37 and male

4.      U Ye Ko Ko, 25 and male

5.      Maung Soe Lun Tun, 18 and male

6.      Daw Cho Cho, 32 and female

7.      Daw Brat Ma Chay, 53 and female

8.      Daw Zin Mar, 32 and female

9.      And her 5 years old son

 

Former village administrator told the local media Myanmar army LID 66 based in Ka Zu Kaing in Ann township fired 6 rounds of artilleries and landed inside the village and killed 5 villagers, including 2 children, on the spot and wounded 9 villagers.

 

Nyaung Ken village is located in Maybon township and 7 mile to the northwest from Ka Zu Kaing military based in Ann township.

 

“The artillery shells are fired from the military base in De La Chaung area in Ann township to our village. One round of artillery triggered two shells. The three rounds of artilleries triggered 6 shells and landed inside the village. The shells exploded very powerful and killed our villagers massively,” said village man U San Phay.

Lawmaker U Phay Than from Maybon township said, “That village is close to Ann township. The shells are firing from there and landing in the village. There is no military clash today. I have not had any information there is Arakan Army base near that village. Neither report was made previously there was clashing. Only the Myanmar army is firing the shells to the village today.”

Local human rights documentation institute-Arakan Information Center reports 11 civilians have been killed and 25 villagers are injured by the shells and guns fired by Myanmar army since the outbreak of Covid-19 is reporting in Rakhine State on August 16.

 

Arakan Army commander Gen. Tun Myat Naing said Myanmar army is taking advantages and killing more civilians and deploying more troops when entire state is lockdown for the virus outbreak.

 

Ministry of health and sports reported 549 residents have been infected in Rakhine State between August 17 and September 7.

 

Residents in Sittway reported 60 high ranking military officers were dropped off at the airport by the military cargo plane yesterday. 

 

Rakhine people believe the coronavirus outbreak in Rakhine State that the government has imposed curfew laws, travel banned, and stay-at-home but let the military to kill the civilians in free hands is both the government and military coordinating to mass murdering Rakhine people when the residents are locked down.
